【摘要】:TheQuebecStandardTestingMachineclassifiesmilledchrysotileasbestosgradesaccordingtothemassfractionsretainedoneachscreen.Specimensthatarenotproperlyconditionedpriortotestingorthathaveexcessivemoisturecontent(above3%inaccordancewithMethodD2987),orboth,maygiveerraticandfalseresults.Someamphiboleasbestosfibersmaybeclassifiedbythistestmethodbutastandardclassificationforthesehasnotbeenestablished.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaprocedurefordryclassificationofchrysotileasbestosfiberbylengthdistribution.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.TheequivalentSIunitsmaybeapproximate.1.3Warning-Breathingofasbestosdustishazardous.Asbestosandasbestosproductspresentdemonstratedhealthrisksforusersandforthosewithwhomtheycomeintocontact.Inadditiontootherprecautions,whenworkingwithasbestos-cementproducts,minimizethedustthatresults.Forinformationonthesafeuseofchrysoltileasbestos,referto"SafeUseofChrysotileAsbestos:AManualonPreventiveandControlMeasures."Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Seeforaspecifichazardwarning.
